Marc Pineault
Retirement Planner, London, Ontario
My job is the part most people never get. Not picking funds, but building the plan underneath: tax-efficient drawdown, when to take CPP and OAS, making sure you do not run out, and what happens to your estate.
I keep my client list small so I can answer the phone. You will not be a number here.
Common questions
Is the call really free?
Yes, the fit call is free and there is no obligation. What comes after it is not. Clients hire me to build a plan, and that is paid work with a published price, so you can decide whether it is worth your money before you even book. If it doesn't make sense for your situation, I'll tell you.
What does it cost to work with you?
The flat planning fee is published, so you can check it before you book: $2,950 for an individual, $3,600 for couples and households, and $5,400 for business owners with a corporation or rental property, all plus HST. Complex situations are quoted on the call. A $500 deposit starts the work and counts toward the fee, and you pay the balance only after you have seen the whole plan. If you would rather I also manage the investments, the planning is included in that ongoing relationship instead. The full breakdown is on the how it works page.
Will you try to sell me?
No. The call is a conversation about your situation, not a pitch. When I find a need, fixing it is regularly worth hundreds of thousands of dollars, so I'll show you exactly how I'd help and what working together looks like. No pressure, and whether you move forward is entirely your call.
Do I need to prepare anything?
No. Come as you are. If you happen to have a rough idea of your accounts and savings it helps, but it's not required for a first conversation.
Can my spouse join?
Please do. Retirement income decisions work best when both partners are in the room. You're welcome to book a time that suits you both.
Do you meet in person or online?
Both. I'm based in London, Ontario and meet clients in person across Southwestern Ontario, and virtually with clients throughout the province.
I just found you online, so why should I trust you?
Fair question, and you should do your homework. I'm Marc Pineault, a real retirement planner in London, Ontario. That's my photo above, my name on this page, and you can find me on TikTok, Instagram and LinkedIn as @marcdoesfinance. The first conversation exists precisely so you can judge for yourself, with no pressure and nothing owed.
