About Marc Pineault — Retirement Planner, London, Ontario

Retirement planner in London, Ontario — helping families and business owners build clear financial plans.

Who I Am

I'm Marc Pineault, a retirement planner in London, Ontario. I help families, professionals, and business owners across Southwestern Ontario build clear financial plans — and then I manage their investments so those plans actually get executed.

Most people I work with have been meaning to “figure out the money stuff” for years. They're earning well, saving reasonably, but they don't have a real plan. They're not sure when they can retire, whether their investments are working, or if they're paying more tax than they need to.

That's where I come in. I build the plan AND manage the money. You get a clear picture of your financial future, a strategy for taxes and investments, and someone who keeps it all on track as your life changes.

Why I Became a Retirement Planner

I didn't start out in financial planning. I graduated from engineering in 2021 and spent a few years working in industry — doing what most people do: working hard, saving what I could, and assuming the money side of life would sort itself out eventually.

Then my grandfather passed away. He'd spent a lifetime building real family wealth, but there was no plan for it — no strategy for how it should move, who it should protect, or what it should become. Without a plan, that wealth was essentially squandered, gone far faster than anyone expected.

That loss is the reason I do this work. I went and learned everything I could about financial planning — not because I set out to change careers, but because I never wanted another family to lose what mine did simply because nobody built the plan. Somewhere in that process, I fell in love with it: the math, the strategy, the moment a client finally understands exactly what their money is going to do for the rest of their life.

Today that's what I do full-time. I build retirement plans for Ontario families and business owners, then manage the money so the plan actually gets carried out — not just written down and forgotten. That means investment management and life insurance live inside the same plan, not in separate silos.

How the Plan Gets Built

Every plan I build goes through the same 57 Checks. Tax, risk and insurance, investments. The 57 Checks, every plan, so nothing gets skipped because it didn't come up in conversation.

Everything lands in writing. Your income year by year, the order you draw your accounts, what your estate looks like, where you're exposed. You see the reasoning behind each recommendation, not just the recommendation.

Then we keep it current. We re-run your numbers every year and adjust as your life moves, so the plan stays true instead of aging in a drawer. You can see the whole process here.

My Approach

Returns are the tip of the iceberg. About 10%. The other 90% is the plan underneath. Tax. Estate. Insurance. Staying calm when markets drop. The big decisions you only make once. Too many advisors only handle the tip. I build the whole iceberg, and manage it as your life changes.

What that looks like in practice:

  • I build detailed year-by-year retirement projections so you know exactly when you can retire and what your income will look like
  • I proactively look for ways to reduce your taxes — not just at tax time, but throughout the year
  • I manage your investments and rebalance your portfolio so you don't have to think about it
  • I coordinate with your accountant, lawyer, and other professionals to make sure everyone is on the same page
  • I check in regularly to update your plan as your life changes

The result? You stop worrying about money and start living with confidence. You know your plan is solid, your investments are working, and someone is keeping an eye on everything.
